Writer's Trouble: Working out a "plot knot."

Hi Young People. Yesterday I think I worked out a "plot knot" in Red Stone: Book II of the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe. You know that special knife Nat has in Sea Cutter? Well, it didn't appear in Red Stone, and I needed to go back and make sure it did. I think I succeeded.
